How To Measure Conservatory Blinds
Conservatories can get extremely hot without blinds and privacy is a must for most homes. It’s easy to measure blinds for your conservatory: in this step by step guide we walk you through exactly how to measure your conservatory for blinds.
We Offer Blinds In Various Shapes
At Broadview Blinds we understand that a conservatory consists of a number of windows of different shapes and sizes, and it’s essential to have pinpoint precision for each individual window. This is why our experienced design team are experts at measuring even the most uniquely shaped window so you can be sure of the perfect fit.
We supply and install free-hanging blinds and fixed to point blinds in a range of different shapes, styles, colours and patterns, including pleated, INTU and PerfectFit blinds available for the sides and roof of your conservatory.
Step 1: Prepare Your Tools
The very first thing to do when measuring your conservatory windows for blinds is to get all the equipment you need ready. This includes a metal tape measure (cloth or paper tape measures can stretch and give you an inaccurate measurement), a sturdy step ladder or chair if you can’t reach the top of the windows, and a pen and paper to make a note of the measurements. Then move any furniture away from the windows so you have a clear path to move about.
Step 2: Number Each Of The Windows
Next, assign each conservatory window where you’d like blinds to hang a number or letter and jot it down in your notepad. This is so there is no confusion about which window is what size once you’ve completed your measurements.
Step 3: Measure The Sides Of The Window
The next step is to measure the first window from the top to the bottom on both the left and right-hand sides to calculate how long the blinds will need to be. You will need to measure from where you would like the blind to begin and where you’d like it to hang to. Write down the measurements.
Step 4: Measure Across The Window
Once you’ve got your vertical measurements, you will need to take the horizontal, or width, measurement. Again, measure from where you’d like the edge of the blind to begin and where you’d like it to end and make a note. There is no right or wrong here as it’s simply a matter of taste.
Step 5: Repeat With Each Window
Repeat the process of measuring the length and width of each window where you’d like a blind installed. Once you’ve measured all the windows you need, we recommend measuring each window again to make doubly sure you have the right dimensions.
