With magnificent views across Poole Harbour, Shell Bay is a top Dorset seafood restaurant situated on the beach in Studland. To satisfy customer demand during the summer period, the management team decided to invest in the property and research ways in which to utilise the external areas to the front and side of the restaurant - ultimately expanding both the 170m2 'al a carte' restaurant and 37m2 bar facility.

With new laws to ban smoking now in force, there is everincreasing pressure for establishments to cater for smokers outside. The owners of The Walnut Tree Inn decided to look at ways in which to adapt the pub's outside area which will enable them to benefit from the ban while also providing customers with a comfortable covered seating area.

With the introduction of a smoking ban in Wales on 2nd April 2007, the freehold pub, The New Inn, decided to take action and investigate the options available to modify the front of the building which would create a comfortable outdoor eating and drinking area for both smoking and non-smoking customers. |
