Leicester Square Restaurants
The brief:
With people watching one of Leicester Square’s great attractions, the area’s newest fish and chip restaurant, The Mermaid’s Tail, and the popular Aberdeen Angus Steakhouse wanted to upgraded their outdoor facilities to ensure that customers enjoy the very best in ‘alfresco’ dining.
The Broadview solution:
To introduce a continental-style dining area for people to relax and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat, Broadview worked with a key trade account, HG Imports. Working in partnership, the companies designed, manufactured and installed three large-span parasols at The Mermaid’s Tail and six large-span parasols at the Aberdeen Angus Steakhouse that would complement the interior of each restaurant.
Each parasol is four metres by four metres in dimension and they have been constructed with aluminium masts, stainless steel fittings and winder systems for easy opening and closing. The parasols are branded to complement each restaurant and are produced from VALMEX® AIRTEX®, a high water and UV resistant fabric which guarantees an excellent longterm appearance. The low weight and high tear strength are also outstanding features of this fabric.
The result:
The parasols have successfully extended the seating areas at both restaurants, with The Mermaid’s Tail accommodating a further 48 customers and the Aberdeen Angus Steakhouse accommodating an extra 92 customers outside.
With the pedestrian Square bustling with street entertainment and visitors, both restaurants now have branded undercover environments which increase their awareness in the Square as well as provide a trendy, comfortable outdoor facility for diners.
